After college, she was an interior design instructor, worked at a prestigious design and fine interiors firm, and then became a freelance interior designer and architectural illustrator for print media, and watercolor and pen and ink illustrator for fun. Diane returned to college several years later and received a BA in literature and history, primarily the literature and history of Britain.
Traveling to the British Isles many times over the years, Diane found that her interest in "All things British" was total and all encompassing. "My studies in literature, architecture, music, history, and travel provide me with every inspiration I need to paint every single day, forever!"
Diane resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Jerry Tubb and their cat Tah Tah. Jerry and Diane own and operate Terra Nova Digital Audio, Inc. (est. 1990), a music mastering studio in Austin. Diane designed the interiors of the 3200 sq. ft studio, and also exhibits many of her paintings there. One of her paintings, "The Yellow Guitar", is the logo for Terra Nova. Diane has successfully incorporated her art with hers and Jerry's business of music.
Diane says, "I couldn't wish for a more perfect life, music and art, all day, every day! How fun is that?"

I have created my artwork "the old fashioned way"... I paint it! No digital for me. My original watercolor illustrations are painted on heavy cold press illustration board. After many years of experimentation, I find this base works well for my fine detailing and allows me to enhance with fine pen and ink, and I can achieve the delicate colors and washes that I wish. All of my paintings are my original designs. The art that is on this web site was painted between 1997 and the present. I have had many published works over my career. Two paintings were used for the front cover of "The Country Register" magazine. My favorite illustrators are Eric Blegvad, Edward Gorey, Aubrey Beardsley, Albrect Durer, Beatrix Potter, and Joan Walsh Anglund.
The acrylic collection is relatively recent and is growing every year. I find that exploring this medium allows me to express more contemporary and abstract work. All acrylic work is painted originally on large format heavy duty canvas.
