DESCRIPTION
One of the back gardens at Sudeley Castle is enclosed with 15 ft. hedges, manicured to perfection. Within these ancient hedges are alcoves with carved marble garden urns standing on 6 foot high pedestals. It was a brisk fall day when I visited, and the oak leaves floated gently from the tree, onto the hedge and slowly landed on the freshly mowed lawn. I wanted to stay there forever. When autumn comes around, I think of the hedges and the leaves at the castle gardens. I really think gnomes arrange the leaves. |
